Energy Bulletin notes that they were seeing a lot of traffic from one of the airlines before the news that they are likely to file for bankruptcy was announced.
I always find my server logs interesting - while there are plenty of familiar "faces" in there, every week brings along some unexpected new large organisation. This weeks "most unusual" award goes to "pentagon.mil" - though conceivably that could be one of my regular visitors, just working at a new location this week. According to Wired, the Pentagon is monitoring lots of blogs these days, though I wouldn't have thought armchair peak oil observers were high on the list.
"Chap. 11 likely for Northwest, Delta airlines - Keith L. Alexander, Washington Post
Northwest and Delta Air Lines are likely to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in mid-September, a month before a new, more restrictive bankruptcy law goes into effect, bankruptcy experts and airline insiders say.(2 August 2005)"
A few months ago, our logs showed that traffic from one of these airline's servers to this website was greater than that of any other user for that month. Of particular interest seemed to be Zittel et al's excellent critique of the international energy agencies, a sure sign that several people in that particular company have some skepticism of the official explanations of recent oil price increases.
