The BBC has some video (with a lengthy initial ad) showing the impact the economic slowdown has had on car sales, with imported vehicles piling up at the docks - Fly over UK's biggest car park.
The drop in car sales is illustrated by these aerial pictures of the Sheerness car import dock, in Kent. The port sees 450,000 vehicles arrive each year. Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders showed new car sales were 128,352 in October, down 23% from a year ago.
