The Independent has a photo essay on the involuntary park around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster site - Chernobyl - 24 years on.

Amazing that people compared the BP spill to Chernobyl...

The real tragedy is that we dump millions of gallons of pesticides, mutagens, teratogens and carcinogens in the gulf region everyday... forever changing our oceans and its life with a man made nightmare.

Oil was never going to do this.

I do hope that this media hype on BP at least draws ears to the real problem with our oceans.
