ReNew Economy has a summary of the 2016 report (PDF) on Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment from the Frankfurt School-UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) - Wind and solar standouts in stellar year for renewables.
In 2015, for the first time ever renewable power sources accounted for more than half of the new energy generation capacity installed (without including big hydro) – beating out coal and gas-fired generation.
