Congratulations To Obama

Its nice to see the winds of change blowing in the US at last, after 8 bleak years.

I suspect Obama will turn out to basically be a moderate centrist. I'm hoping he'll be the one to kickstart a green energy revolution and turn his back on endless war in the middle east - both of which will go a long way towards helping fix the country.

We'll see how things unfold over the next year or two.

In the meantime, I imagine the political blogosphere is going to go into a severe recession - what are they going to do without cartoonish villains like Bush and Cheney to criticise ?

I imagine the conspiracy theorists won't miss a beat - other than the fact that they'll all be aiming at the same target for a change. The left is going to struggle though...

Cripes - I'm glad you remember what happened in 1961 - I didn't even know the communists were ever an electoral force of any sort in Australia.

But I take your point - as Monty Python so amusingly pointed out in "Life Of Brian".

The far left has been hammering Obama for over a year anyway - its the old "they're all fascists" thing - everyone starting with the social democrats then heading through the liberals, then the conservatives and beyond into the neocon / libertarian / fascist fringes (depending which direction you take)...
